This page describes how customers give consent ("opt-in") to receive WhatsApp messages sent through the GetLocalStar platform, what those messages contain, how often they are sent, and how to stop them. It is the consent reference for our WhatsApp Business messaging programme.
GetLocalStar is a Google review management platform used by businesses in the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere. Businesses using GetLocalStar send their own customers review-request messages over WhatsApp — for example, a message after a visit inviting the customer to leave a Google review. Messages are business-to-customer; GetLocalStar provides the software that sends them on the business's behalf, through the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform.
A customer's mobile number only enters the platform when the business has a lawful basis to contact them. Consent is collected in one of these ways:
| Message type | When it is sent | Typical frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Review request | After a visit, purchase or service | Once per visit |
| Review reminder | Only if the first request was not opened | Up to 5, spaced by the business's chosen interval |
| Business updates | Only where the business has separate consent | Occasional |
WhatsApp messages are delivered over the customer's internet connection. GetLocalStar does not charge customers who receive messages; standard data charges from their mobile operator may apply.
A customer can stop messages at any time by replying STOP in the WhatsApp conversation, by blocking the sending number in WhatsApp, or by asking the business directly. Once a customer opts out, the platform marks them as opted out and no further review requests are sent to that number — including any reminders already scheduled. To confirm removal, contact .
Reply HELP in the conversation, or email .
See our Privacy Policy for how personal data is stored, retained and deleted, and our Terms of Service for the obligations businesses accept when they send messages through GetLocalStar.
Businesses using GetLocalStar are responsible for obtaining and keeping proof of consent for every number they message, for complying with the Meta WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and applicable UAE law, and for honouring opt-out requests promptly. Accounts that message customers without consent are suspended.
