SMS Opt-in & Consent Policy

This page describes how end users provide consent ("opt-in") to receive text messages sent through the GetLocalStar platform, the types and frequency of messages, and how to opt out. It is provided as the consent/opt-in reference for our SMS messaging program (including Twilio A2P 10DLC registration).

1. Program description

GetLocalStar is a review-management platform used by local businesses to request and manage customer reviews. Businesses using GetLocalStar send their own customers review-request and related transactional text messages (for example, a message after a visit inviting the customer to leave a Google review). Messages are business-to-customer; GetLocalStar provides the software that sends them on the business's behalf.

2. How consent (opt-in) is collected

End users provide consent through one or more of the following methods:

Web opt-in form. A customer enters their name and phone number into a business's contact form (hosted by GetLocalStar) and explicitly checks a consent box agreeing to receive text messages before submitting. The phone number is not added for messaging unless the consent box is checked.
Point-of-service / direct opt-in. A customer gives their phone number to the business directly (in person, by phone, or on the business's own form) and agrees to receive review-request texts. The business is required by our Terms of Service to obtain and retain proof of this consent before any message is sent.

Consent is not a condition of any purchase. We do not buy or rent phone lists, and consent is never transferred between businesses.

Exact consent disclosure shown at the point of opt-in

The following disclosure appears next to the consent checkbox on the web opt-in form:

"By providing your phone number and checking this box, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages (such as review requests) from this business at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms."

3. Types of messages

Review-request messages inviting the recipient to leave a review;
Related transactional follow-ups regarding that request (e.g., a reminder or thank-you).

We do not use the program to send unrelated marketing, and prohibited (SHAFT) content is not permitted.

4. Message frequency

Message frequency varies by business and recipient. A recipient typically receives a small number of messages per review request (for example, one request and an optional reminder). Frequency is controlled by the sending business.

5. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. GetLocalStar does not charge recipients for messages; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply.

6. Opt-out (STOP) and Help (HELP)

Keyword	What happens
STOP	Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. The recipient is added to a suppression list and receives no further messages (a single confirmation may be sent). Also accepted: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT.
HELP	Reply HELP for assistance and contact information.

Opt-out requests are processed automatically and honored across the platform.

8. Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent are used only to deliver the messages described above and are shared only with our messaging provider (Twilio) to transmit them.
